In the wake of celebrating Christmas, with all of its hustle and bustle, we arrive into a new year. For many of us, resolutions, goals, and “fresh” starts often leave us aware of the tired places within our feminine soul where darkness may linger, and we sense the need for more light.
The liturgical practice of Epiphany offers the opportunity to consider and remember the light has come and is coming, and will come again.
Light can feel elusive in the cold dark of winter, in the same way the infant the wise men were seeking for months also felt elusive. The night before meeting Jesus, they ate the last of their rations. The villagers made cakes and breads and left them on their doorsteps for the wise men, as they finally entered the town they had been looking for. This is what happens to our hearts at Epiphany. We celebrate that the light has come. We mark that we made it through the journey of waiting, and that we rationed enough to get to this place finally.
We return to the practice each year to honor that we still experience waiting, we still find the light of Jesus' presence elusive at times, we still seek him just as the Magi did. We welcome you to come and celebrate Epiphany with us - to light a candle and bask in the glow as we hold our wintering stories together as women.
Join us for a few days of wondering together and exploring the places deep in your soul that are hungry for more light, more curiosity, more kindness, more presence.
We will engage both new and ancient practices tied to experiencing epiphany in embodied and transformative ways.
